Middle School Matchmaking
A middle school in Indiana has been playing match-maker with some of their students. In this school children from as young as 11 all the way up to 16 year olds pay money to have themselves set up on dates. The school has been playing a sort of E-Harmony rolls with the students that parents, don't seem to be having the best time accepting. One parent says that she doesn't 'Think its right for [her] 11 year old daughter to be paired with someone of the opposite sex.' The school is using the so called dating service as a fundraising tool to raise money for the schools drama department. Students have been bringing home surveys to fill out, much like the ones on dating websites. The more the children pay the more matches are found on the computer. Despite what parents are saying, the superintendant of the schools says that it is completely harmless and that he personally approved it. Along with that he says that the schools have been doing it for over 15 years.

All teachers fired at Rhode Island school
At Central Falls High School in Rhode Island, the superintendant made an astonishing, drastic, and un-heard of thing. In order to give the kids that go to this school, who mostly live in poverty, a better chance at success. She did a mass firing of over dozens of the school's teachers. It was said that the teachers refused to spend more time with the students, time needed to improve their test scores. The superintendant is also very worried because the school's graduation rate, which is at 48% percent, is still very very low. The cuts were made because of the dangerously low skill ratings. The teachers are getting paid well over the nation average ($76-78,000) and yet still want over $90 an hour more. The teachers were wanting more money since the district wanted just a little more time from them, so the desicion was made, it was time to clean house.

Billboards spike race debates
In Atlanta, Georgia many people are outraged at what about 80 billboards in the area read. "Black Children are and Endangered species." These billboards are an ad to stop abortion that the sponsors say are in fact, pointed toward black women. The people say that black women are having so many abortions that they are 'endangering' their population. Catherine Davis, a spokeswoman for Georgia Right To Life, agreed that society should be "woken up" to the drastically high abortion rates. She also read statistics that say that black women are the ones who are having over half of the nations abortions. While she tries to fight to defend the signs, people say that it is wrong to 'criminalizing black women for having abortions.' Artis Cash also says that even the babies that ARE being born are being born into unwed families and ones with low income to even support the child. These billboards have been the center of contreversy since they came up, and being discussed all around now.
